Indian cinephiles can finally rejoice, as Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar returns to cinemas, including a much-awaited IMAX release, on Feb. 7. Warner Bros. India on Friday announced the re-release news on their X profile.

The popular Sci-fi movie has been re-released in theatres across the world on the occasion of the movie's 10-year anniversary.

"The stars are aligning again! Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar returns to cinemas in India and also in IMAX on February 7. Relive the journey beyond time and space!," the Tweet said.

Despite huge demand, Indian fans missed Interstellar IMAX re-release in December as Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2 got all the IMAX screens.

Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, was originally produced on a budget of $165 million. During its initial theatrical run in 2014, the film grossed $188 million domestically and $493 million internationally, culminating in a worldwide total of $681 million, as per Box Office Mojo.

The film’s exclusive IMAX re-release began on Dec. 6 in 165 theaters across North America, featuring a mix of IMAX digital and IMAX 70mm screenings.

With the recent re-release contributing an additional $15.2 million to its North American gross, the domestic earnings of Interstellar now stands at $203.2 million. Combined with the $526.5 million generated from its original run and subsequent re-releases internationally, the film’s global box office tally has reached an impressive $729.9 million.
