Elon Musk's social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced its third global outage on Monday, with users reporting issues logging in and accessing the service. Thousands of users across multiple countries, including India, faced disruptions and connectivity problems.

According to Down Detector, a platform that tracks online service disruptions, over 1,056 complaints were logged about X’s performance in India around 9:45 PM on Monday. Globally, more than 40,000 reports indicated that users were unable to load the X website, with a surge in complaints during the second outage.

Earlier in the day, a brief spike in reports occurred but was resolved quickly. However, the second outage saw a much larger volume of complaints before service was restored. Now, a third outage appears to be underway.

X initially recovered after a brief global outage on Monday, which lasted about an hour before normal service resumed for most users. Till the time of publishing this report, X and its owner, billionaire Elon Musk, were yet to acknowledge the outage or provide an update.

According to Down Detector, a platform that tracks online service disruptions, over 17,871 complaints were logged regarding X’s performance around 3:15 pm on Monday. The maximum outage complaints were reported in the United States, followed by the United Kingdom.

Users in other regions, including the Netherlands, Italy, Malaysia, Canada, and Australia, also reported being unable to access the microblogging platform.

X, according to Musk, has around 1 billion active users. It is counted amongst the top social media platforms, along with the Meta-owned Instagram and Facebook.

Musk, the tech tycoon and SpaceX founder, acquired the platform in 2022 for an estimated $44 billion, later renaming it X.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp—another Meta-owned entity—faced an outage on Feb 28. Thousands of users of the social media messaging platform faced disruptions, with messages remaining undelivered and connectivity issues reported across India.
