Months after launching its Galaxy S25 series, Samsung left many surprised with the introduction of the all-new Galaxy S25 Edge, the "slimmest Galaxy S series device yet". Unfortunately, the latest smartphone from the tech giant does not seem to measure up to the original version, according to a report.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, launched last month, is one of the slimmest smartphones available in the market, weighing only 163 grams and measuring about 5.8 mm in thickness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset – the same used for flagship S25 series devices. It is packed with a 200 MP primary rear camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, while Galaxy AI further takes photography to a notch higher.

Galaxy S25 Edge Sales

Although aimed at revitalising the mobile market, the sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone are "below expectations”, SamMobile reported, quoting industry insiders.

It has been stated that the smartphone, so far, has not been able to attract a significant number of customers to satisfy the Korean company.

The report claims that the Galaxy S25 Edge might be "dangerously close" to being a failed experiment that did not meet the expected results.

What Went Wrong?

For now, it remains to be seen how much the Galaxy S25 Edge has been able to attract buyers in the premium segment.

Within weeks after its introduction, Samsung reportedly offered several pre-order bonuses and made these offers more lucrative with time.

The company has reportedly not shared early sales figures when it launched the handset in Korea after the pre-order period.

Although it is quite early to judge the Galaxy S25 Edge experiment, sources told SamMobile that the interest of customers in the latest smartphone is below what the company had initially envisioned.

The journey of Galaxy S25 Edge has only started recently and there are possibilities that tech enthusiasts might get warmed up to the concept in the coming months.

For now, Galaxy S25 Edge is available at Rs 1,21,999 for the 12 GB+512 GB variant on Amazon. On Flipkart, the 12 GB+256 GB variant is available for Rs 1,09,999.

Samsung is not the only smartphone company to have introduced an all-new smartphone this year. Earlier, Apple launched the Apple 16e handset, while the OnePlus 13s is scheduled to make its debut on June 5.
