Samsung is anticipated to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones in a few months time, replacing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. In the latest on them, the company has apparently been able to meet its timeline of starting their production in May.
According to tipster @PandaFlashPro, the smartphones are presently in the manufacturing phase. “Samsung began Production of Galaxy Z Fold 7 | Galaxy Z Flip 7,” wrote the tipster on X, adding that “Samsung just scheduled 7th Generation foldable's Production Starts From Upcoming ‘May'”.
Three million Galaxy Z Flip 7s and two million Galaxy Z Fold 7s are anticipated to be produced by Samsung this year. Compared to the previous generation, these figures are 40% lower. It is said that the lower production goal comes in the wake of the prior foldables' failure to meet sales targets.

The book-style Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with 12GB RAM as standard configuration and a 1TB storage variant, for smoother performance in the midst of AI-loaded features. When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may have a thickness of 8.22 mm, which is significantly thinner than the previous model's 12.1 mm profile.
What will be under the hood of the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip 7 is still debatable. Although there have been claims of Exynos 2500 test versions of the Flip 7, Samsung reportedly has not been able to get the chipset ready, and a Snapdragon chipset will most likely power the Flip 7 too. It will likely be paired with 12GB RAM as standard. The clamshell is also rumoured to pack a larger display and 4,300mAh battery, an upgrade over the Flip 6.
Reports also note that the two foldables will come with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 out of the box.
