Apple iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro Can Launch On This Date — Here's Why

The most anticipated tech launch of the year — iPhone 17 — is less than a quarter away, and as always, excitement is already going through the roof.

As widely discussed, Apple will unveil the base iPhone 17, the all-new "light and thin" iPhone 17 Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max this year.

We know the Apple keynote and launch will be in September (going by the Fall history), but when exactly? Let’s zero in on potential keynote and launch dates for iPhone 17 series.

The iPhone is at the heart of Apple's biggest keynote of the year. It usually occurs on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the first half of September, but Apple never picks Sept. 11 for obvious reasons.

Going by history, Apple could choose from the following sets of dates: Sept. 2 (Tuesday) or Sept. 3 (Wednesday), Sept. 9 (Tuesday) or Sept. 10 (Wednesday), and Sept. 16 (Tuesday) or Sept. 17 (Wednesday). 

With the first set of dates clashing with the IFA consumer electronics exhibition (Sept. 5-9) and close to Labor Day on Sept. 1, and the last dates seemingly late, there is a high chance the iPhone 17 curtain raiser could be on Sept. 9 or 10.

The pre-order date for the iPhone is typically on the Friday of the week of the keynote. If Sept. 9-10 are potential keynote dates, then Sept. 12 could see pre-orders beginning for the iPhone 17 series. Timings could vary depending upon time zones of different countries.

Apple puts the iPhone on sale the Friday of the week following the keynote week. Keeping Sept. 9 or Sept. 10 as probable keynote dates and Sept. 12 as the pre-order start date, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro models are likely to go on sale worldwide on this date: Sept. 19.
