After a wait of almost 12 years, the frenzy around Grand Theft Auto 6 is palpable. Rumour mill is going over the top, what with anticipations of DJ Khaled’s radio station to “Trailer 2 towards the end of March” to pre-orders beginning in places.
Here is everything you should know about GTA 6, which is grabbing eyeballs of the gaming world right now.
GTA 6 Launch In 2025 On Track?
Rumours begun to circulate in early 2024 that the game would be released in 2025, after Rockstar Games’ insistence that staff report to work five days a week. However, former Rockstar developer Obbe Vermeij poured cold water over the fire, saying the 2025 release date was still up in the air.
‘Carjackers’ were put back, only to be relieved in February when Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, stated to Variety that they “announced a pretty narrow window. So I think our view is that right now, that’s fine…And then when it’s appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say.” Hopefully, that meant the wait would be over soon, begging the question: second trailer drop?
GTA 6 Trailer Drop In March?
GameRollGTA had posted that Borderlands 4 may provide information about the release of new GTA 6 content. The X account, which is owned by 2K Games—Rockstar’s sister firm and owned by Take-Two, said, “…we can expect Rockstar to drop Trailer 2 towards the end of March.”
Borderlands 4 recently got its second trailer and it launches in 7 months.

If GTA 6 was to follow this same pattern, then we can expect Rockstar to drop Trailer 2 towards the end of March.
We have no reason to worry. Take-Two just utilises shorter marketing cycles these days. pic.twitter.com/jAigvfc3Qv
Although Rockstar hasn’t made this official, many believe the video will be released around May.
What Consoles Can You Play GTA 6 On?
As per Take-Two’s media release from December 2023, GTA 6 will be accessible on PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems. It is unclear, though, if the game will be one of the PS5 Pro’s upgraded titles. Whether it’ll be on Xbox One, PS4, or PCs remains to be seen though.
DJ Khaled On GTA 6 Soundtrack?
As recent grapevine goes, DJ Khaled is one of the possible artists, reportedly owning a radio station in GTA 6, with T-Pain and DJ Tokimonsta among other rumoured names for the soundtrack.
CircoLoco Records, a collaboration between Rockstar Games and Ibiza’s DC10 club, is also rumoured to be in on the soundtrack.
GTA 6 Pre-Orders Already?
Looks like fans in Malaysia have already begun placing pre-orders for physical copies of GTA 6. X user GTAVI_Countdown claims that Malaysian retailers are allowing gamers to “pre-order the pre-order" for just $3.
When GTA 6 does land, physical copies are expected to sell like hot cakes, and fans might want to keep an eye out for pre-orders available nearby!
