- Wiz will integrate with Google Unified Security Platform to enhance multi-cloud cybersecurity
- The platform offers real-time analysis to map application architecture and identify vulnerabilities
Google has completed the acquisition of AI security platform Wiz, according to a post on X from Google Cloud's chief executive officer Thomas Kurain on Wednesday.
Kurain said that the platform will be coupled with Google's Unified Security Platform and will be used to speed up the adoption of multi cloud cybersecurity, the use of multi cloud environments, and spur further innovation and growth in cloud computing.
"Together, we'll provide customers with a comprehensive platform to secure their cloud and hybrid environments," he said.

The acquisition will strengthen Google's digital security offerings as Wiz is meant to help organizations to have security for their cloud and AI applications at the same pace as they are built.
"The Wiz Security Platform connects code, cloud, and runtime into a single shared context, allowing customers to prevent risk early, harden environments by default, and protect applications continuously as they evolve," the company's blog post regarding the acquisition said.
Wiz does this by performing real-time analysis of customer environments to build a map consisting of application architecture, permissions, data flows and runtime behavior. This map helps Wiz find vulnerabilities in these digital products before they complete production as well as prioritising risk based on business impact.
Wiz will also be a strategic Google Cloud partner, including serving as an inaugural partner of the Google Unified Security Recommended partner programme, the blog post said.
This partnership is also meant to combat security vulnerabilities that emerge from the creation and use of AI agents.
"They are increasingly feeding them (AI Agents) with business critical data as enterprise context for reasoning. This shift introduces exposure to a new set of threats, many of which are now being created by and targeting AI models themselves," the blog said.
