Galaxy S25 Edge’s Thin Form To Be Protected By Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, Samsung Confirms
The Galaxy S25 Edge will be launched in a virtual Unpacked event at 5:30 a.m. on May 13 in India.
Samsung and Corning together have confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge will feature Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, a new glass ceramic offering that will help deliver advanced protection for the thin form factor of the device.
Corning Gorilla Glass is known for its robustness, which is further enhanced in the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 cover for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung said that its proprietary processing and reinforcement technologies, combined with Corning’s advanced glass technology, will help in creating a stylish yet resilient design for the S25 Edge.
“Galaxy S25 Edge will set a new standard for craftsmanship and performance as our slimmest Galaxy S series device yet,” said Kwangjin Bae, EVP and head of mechanical R&D team of Mobile eXperience Business (MX) at Samsung. “To support this breakthrough design, it was essential to develop a display material that was both exceptionally thin and reliably strong—a challenge that brought Corning and Samsung together.”
According to Samsung, Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 features “crystals intricately embedded within its glass matrix, enhancing the durability and crack deflection capabilities of the display cover.” This provides improved toughness while retaining high optical transparency.

Samsung has already confirmed that despite its slim form, the Galaxy S25 Edge’s will pack a 200 MP primary camera. This will likely be paired with 12 MP ultra-wide lens, along with 12 MP selfie camera.
