According to the new leak, the rumoured rumored Apple foldable iPhone could have an insanely large 12-inch screen, along with being ultra-thin. According to tipster Jukanlosreve (who translated the leak), it summarises research conducted by a company called zwz. This might be a reference to ZWZ Bearings, a Chinese company recognised for manufacturing ball bearings and related items.
Foldable iPhone Display Specs (Rumoured)
According to the leaked summarisation, Apple is intriguingly developing a smaller foldable iPhone, but will actually begin with larger models with enormous screens. According to Jukan's translation, “The internal screen is comparable to two 6.1-inch phones folded together,” and it then added, “resulting in a total size of over 12 inches.”
If those figures are correct, the foldable iPhone would be the largest foldable smartphone available, falling between the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro (tablet). In contrast, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 opens to a 7.6-inch screen, and even the tri-folding Huawei XT Mate has a 10.2-inch screen.
The Apple foldable iPhone will also reportedly be 9.2 mm thick when folded and almost halved to 4.6 mm when unfolded. In comparison to the Honour Magic V3, which measures 4.35 mm when unfurled, the foldable iPhone would be one of the thinnest foldables in the world. A double-whammy for Apple's rivals.
Foldable iPhone: Design, Camera, Battery (Rumoured)
The foldable iPhone will reportedly have a “large folding mechanism” on the left rear and be made of aluminium. Details regarding the hinge and its impact on the unfolded display were lacking, though. Also, instead of a clamshell-like design of the Z Flip 6 or Motorola's Razr Plus 2024, the foldable iPhone may have a more book-style design like the Z Fold 6.
According to the leak, the foldable iPhone will have a primary and an ultrawide camera on the back. Also, as per Jukan's translation, the device will pack two batteries with stainless steel casings that add up to roughly 5,000mAh.
