Far from getting some positive news about GTA 6 launch date or even price, Rockstar has surprised fans with an announcement of a totally different kind. Bummer? Perhaps. GTA 5 on PC will get a free upgrade from Rockstar Games on March 4! For reasons not really explained, Rockstar is doling out freebies to Grand Theft Auto V players. Is it a sign? Bad news on the way? Will GTA 6 launch be delayed? Will GTA 6 price hit the $100+ mark? The answer is sadly in the digital ether somewhere.

However, no point in delving on it and may as well check out the free stuff coming to GTA 5 players. Featuring new vehicles, performance upgrades, new animal encounters and access to GTA+ Membership, this update brings all the great PS5 and Xbox Series X|S features to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Furthermore, GTA 5 players will get faster and better graphics and the gameplay will be even smoother. Additionally, players who already own the game can transfer their progress from Story Mode and GTA Online.

New Features for PC Players

Rockstar has confirmed several major additions to GTA 5:

  • Hao’s Special Works (HSW): HSW races, time trials, premium test rides, and high-performance car upgrades.

  • GTA+ Membership: Now available on PC with exclusive perks.

  • Wildlife Photography Challenge: Earn daily rewards by taking pictures of animals in San Andreas.

  • Career Progress Tracker: Keep track of criminal achievements across all GTA Online updates.

  • Better Online Security: Voice chat moderation and enhanced anti-cheat protections.

  • Improved Interface & Beginner Boost: Easier navigation and GTA $4,000,000 for new players in Career Builder.

New & Upgradable Vehicles

The GTA 5 update adds five new cars to the PC version, including:

  • Coil Cyclone II (Super)

  • Imponte Arbiter GT (Muscle)

  • Karin S95 (Sports)

  • Pegassi Weaponized Ignus (Super)

  • Pfister Astron Custom (SUV)

Hao’s Special Works will also provide performance upgrades for several existing vehicles.

Technical Enhancements & GTA+

PC players will benefit from:

  • Ray tracing for better lighting and shadows

  • Support for AMD FSR & NVIDIA DLSS

  • Faster SSD loading times

  • DualSense controller support

For the very first time, PC players will be able to subscribe to GTA+, which includes GTA$500,000 per month, exclusive vehicles, and more.
