Apple is reportedly planning to drop support for iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max with iOS 19 release. These models, launched in 2018, will not receive the update for the next generation iOS version, a report said.

According to the 9To5Mac, Apple is also expected to drop support for the iPad (7th generation) with the release of iPadOS 19. The report cited the development based on a private, anonymous account on X, which has a strong track record of accurate Apple software leaks.

The development follows days after Apple announced that it will host the annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. At the marquee event, the tech giant is likely to unveil its latest next-generation operating system for iPhones.

The update is expected to bring major revamp to design, system navigation, and more for iPhones. It is anticipated that iOS 19 will begin to roll out after the 2025 iPhone lineup launch, likely in September.

If the rumour turns out to be true, iOS 19 will be compatible with a wide range of iPhones, including the iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 and 13 models, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 15 series, and iPhone 16 series. It will also support both the second and third-generation iPhone SE models, 9To5Mac reported.

As Apple's latest innovation, iOS 19 is expected to bring significant updates across design, navigation, health, AI and messaging. Reports indicated that the iOS will offer more streamlined experience across Apple devices. Users will have access to smoother interactions with their Apple devices with enhanced navigation abilities. Apple’s focus on empowering its Health app could be seen with the new update, which may offer advanced integrated AI features. This could include personalised wellness guidance and improved fitness tracking tools.

There are also expectations that Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri, will come in an improved version, with the ability to perform task execution with more ease. It remains to be seen whether it will be integrated with the ChatGPT artificial intelligence platform. The update will also likely come with enhanced security features and cross-platform compatibility.
