24-Megapixel Selfie Camera, 12GB RAM: What To Expect From Apple iPhone 17 Series
From a 24-megapixel front camera to a 12GB memory upgrade, here are key things Apple users can expect from the upcoming iPhone 17 series.

It's that time of the year again. Apple users are confused about whether to buy the current iPhone 16 series or wait for the next big launch from the Cupertino giant — Apple iPhone 17 series. Although six months from now, the iPhone 17 range is rumoured to be backed by several major upgrades in terms of performance and camera quality, making it worth the wait.
Apple analyst Jeff Pu has published a research note detailing key expectations from the upcoming line-ups.
Better Camera Quality
In his note, Pu claimed that all the smartphones in the iPhone 17 series will have a 24-megapixel selfie camera, which is twice the resolution that users get in the selfie camera in the present iPhone 16 lineup, including the most expensive iPhone 16 Pro Max, MacRumors reported.
While all four iPhone 16 models are equipped with a 12-megapixel front camera, those in line for the iPhone 17 series will get a huge upgrade in terms of the selfie camera. This will be for all the four devices — iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the expert said.
On the other hand, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that at least one of the models in the iPhone 17 lineup will be equipped with a 24-megapixel front camera, adding that this upgrade will "significantly improve the image quality."
On the back panel, there is another improvement for the telephoto lens in the Pro versions — iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This time, users will get a 48-megapixel snapper and not the 12-megapixel telephoto lens that they currently see on iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max versions.

Performance
While Apple devices are highly popular for their camera quality, another aspect that sets them apart is the smooth and clean performance that users get to experience.
Pu said that another aspect of the upcoming iPhone 17 phone is that it might get a memory boost from the current 8GB to 12 GB.
Not just that, the A19 and A19 Pro chipsets are believed to be made with TSMC’s newer third-generation 3-nanometer process, which has been dubbed N3P.
This is expected to further improve the performance of the device and make them more efficient. Also, the iPhone 17 devices can come up with the Wi-Fi 7 chip, especially designed by Apple.
Expectations From iPhone 18
While it is quite early to make predictions for the iPhone 18 series, Pu suggested that the A20 chipset, which will power the iPhone 18 devices, will also be built through TSMC’s 3nm N3P process.
This means that there will be no major difference in terms of performance between A19 and A20 chipsets. However, A20 is expected to come with the Chip on Wafer Substrate of TSMC, which could make significant improvements to Apple Intelligence.
