Champions Trophy 2025: How Pakistan Can Qualify For Semi-Finals

A victory for New Zealand against Bangladesh would ensure the Kiwis’ progress to the next round along with Team India. Pakistan will desperately want Bangladesh to pull off a major upset and beat New Zealand.

Pakistan would also need India to defeat New Zealand by a huge margin.

In that case, a comprehensive victory against Bangladesh in their last group match in Rawalpindi will possibly guide Pakistan to the next round with two points.

The net run rate may turn out to be a major decisive factor if the hosts were to qualify for the next stage in the contest.

If New Zealand loses both of their remaining fixtures against Bangladesh and India, a victory for Pakistan in the final game will take them to two points from three matches.

In that case, Pakistan will be tied at two points along with New Zealand and Bangladesh. In such a scenario, Pakistan will succeed in advancing to the semifinals with a better net run rate.

Pakistan will feature in their final group game of the Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh on Thursday, Feb. 27. Meanwhile, the final fixture of Group A is scheduled to be played between India and New Zealand on Sunday, Mar. 2.
