ICICI Securities Report
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released its monthly data on subscribers for February 2021.
Industry-active subscribers rose 3.2 million with Bharti Airtel Ltd. net additions strong at 3.7 million subscribers; Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. lost 0.2 million subscribers, which explains its renewed aggression to push Jio Phone.
Mobile broadband subscriber addition stood at 7.9 million with strong addition again for Airtel at 3.5 million.
Airtel's MBB subscriber market share rose 40 basis points to 28.4% on active basis, while Jio's dipped 30 basis points to 49.8%; first time below 50% since its commercial launch.
