ICICI Securities Report
ICICI Securities organised an expert call with Mr. Ashvin Parekh, managing partner, Ashvin Parekh Advisory Services, and one of the members of the Reserve Bank of India's Expert Committee that submitted the report on Covid-19 related stress resolution framework.
Mr. Parekh clearly articulated the Committee's underlying approach and emphasized:
1. first and foremost, it is not an non-performing asset resolution but a standard asset resolution framework;
2. need not be bogged down by past experience of a few complex cases, but view it as a rescue mechanism for otherwise healthy and large numbers of cases that have been impacted solely due to Covid disruption;
3. prudence calls for timely support through restructuring for them to come back as circumstances stabilise and the economy revives.
