Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co.'s net profit increased 18% for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, beating analysts' estimates.

The company's net profit rose to Rs 1,259.54 crore during the January- March period of fiscal 2025, according to an exchange filing. That compares with a consensus estimate of Rs 1,189.28 crore by analysts polled by Bloomberg.

In the year-ago period, the company posted a net profit of Rs 1,065.23 crore.

Its revenue soared 30.2% to Rs 7,045.57 crore for the January-March period, as against Rs 5,409.90 crore for the year ago period.

The gross non-performing assets reduced to 3.97% for quarter ended March from 4% in the previous quarter.

Net non-performing assets dropped to 2.63% for the quarter under review, down from 2.66% on sequential basis.

Dividend

Cholamandalam Investment and Finance proposed a final dividend of Rs 0.70 per share at a face value of Rs 2 each for the quarter ended March 31, 2025.

The dividend will be paid to shareholders listed in the Register of Members as of July 24. It will be distributed within 30 days after the 47th annual general meeting, by Aug. 29, 2025, subject to approval at the meeting.

Performance Highlights

The total vehicle finance disbursement of the non-banking financial company stood at Rs 14,430 crore for the quarter under review, as against Rs 12,962 crore for the same period in the corresponding year.

Disbursements for fiscal 2025 grew 12% growth year-on-year to Rs 53,922 crore from Rs 48,348 crore in the previous year.

The Loan Against Property business disbursed Rs 5,539 crore in the quarter ended March, compared to Rs 4,273 crore in the same period last year, showing a 30% growth.

For the financial year 2025, disbursements reached Rs 17,913 crore, up from Rs 13,554 crore in the previous year, reflecting a 32% year-on-year increase.

Shares of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance on Friday closed 0.28% lower at Rs 1,543.50 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 0.86% fall in the benchmark Nifty 50. The stock has risen by 33.60% in the last 12 months and 30.15% on year-to-date basis.

Out of 40 analysts tracking the company, 28 have 'buy' rating on the stock, eight recommend ‘hold’ and four suggest 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average of 12-month analysts' price target implies a potential downside of 1.7%.
