(Bloomberg) -- The Hungarian mayor filmed taking part in an orgy on a luxury yacht managed to get himself re-elected. But he's in big trouble with his boss.
Footage of Zsolt Borkai, mayor of Gyor, and his associates romping at a sex party on the Adriatic Sea circulated on news and porn websites. It was a humiliation for Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who invokes Christian values and has criticized Western society for its relaxed morals.
And the former Olympic gymnast's antics helped Orban's rivals take back control of Budapest.
The 54-year-old married father of two went incommunicado in the days leading up the vote and has apologized to his family. He's widely expected to be expelled from Fidesz as soon as Monday in an effort to contain the damage to the party's image.
As party chairman, Orban will make the final call. Expect retribution to be swift.
