Sonia Gandhi Running Fever, Hospital Stay Extended By a Few Days

According to the health bulletin issued by Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Sonia is recovering well.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the last nine days after falling ill during a roadshow in Varanasi, is running a fever and has extended her stay in the hospital by a few days, as per her doctors advice.

She was admitted at Sir Ganga Ram hospital on 3 August with fever, dehydration and a shoulder injury.

Today morning, a team of doctors has examined Mrs Gandhi. They have advised her to remain in hospital on account of fever due to infection in the body. She is on antibiotics and is showing signs of improvement from the infection.

Gandhi was shifted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital from the Army Research and Referral Hospital, where she was rushed, soon after her arrival from Varanasi around midnight on Tuesday.

Gandhi is admitted under the care of Dr Arup Basu and his team from Department of Pulmonology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
