Four coaches of a suburban train derailed near Mahim station on the Harbour Line on Friday, wounding six passengers and affecting rail traffic on the Wadala-Andheri section, a railway police official said.
Those injured included four women. All six commuters have been admitted to Sion hospital, I B Sarode, senior inspector of the Wadala Railway Police Station said.

The local train, which started from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, was on its way to Andheri station when a problem was detected near Mahim in the overhead equipment that supplies power to the locomotive, a railway official said.

Following the problem, the train was being shifted to another track when its four front coaches derailed while reversing around 9:55 am, Western Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Ravinder Bhatkar said.
Efforts were on to put the coaches back on the track as soon as possible, he said.
"Restoration of 4 coaches of CSMT-Andheri Dn Harbor local expected in 3 hrs," Western Railway said in a tweet.
Train movement on the Wadala-Andheri section was affected due to the mishap. However, services on the Western Railway suburban corridor (Churchgate-Virar section), which also runs through Mahim, remained unaffected, Bhatkar said.
The derailment occurred 50 meters before the Mahim station at the track crossing point, Sarode said.
Another police official ruled out sabotage as the possible cause of derailment. PTI
