India said a missile was accidentally fired into Pakistan.

The missile which was fired on March 9, 2022, was launched during a course of a routine maintenance, according to a statement from India's Ministry of Defence on Friday.

Pakistan's military on Thursday protested the violation by saying that an "unarmed supersonic missile" which landed in the eastern Punjab province damaged some residential property, Bloomberg reported.

The Indian government ordered has a high-level Court of Enquiry and called the incident ‘deeply regrettable', according to the statement. “It is also a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident.”
