Pete Sessions, Head of House Rules Committee, Ousted in Texas

(Bloomberg) -- Former pro football player Colin Allred defeated 11-term House Republican Pete Sessions in the race for Texas's 32nd Congressional District seat, according to NBC and ABC projections.

Sessions is the chairman of the House Rules Committee. Allred is a lawyer who worked in the administration of former President Barack Obama. Before that, he played football for the NFL's Tennessee Titans and for Baylor University.
