Income Tax Department Extends Deadline For Filing Belated Returns By 15 Days

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday extended the last date for filing belated and revised income tax returns for accounting year 2024-25. This change is applicable in the case of resident individuals.
CBDT extends the last date for furnishing Belated/ Revised return of income for AY 2024-25 in the case of Resident Individuals from 31st December, 2024 to 15th January, 2025.

The circular provides interim relief for tax payers to file their income tax returns. The earlier deadline had been set for Dec. 31 this year. The extension has been made till Jan. 15, 2025.
