Turkey’s Total Coronavirus Cases Top 100,000; Death Toll 2,491

(Bloomberg) -- Turkey has become the seventh country globally to report more than 100,000 coronavirus cases.

The number of cases rose to 101,790 on Thursday, while the death toll climbed to 2,491, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said in a Twitter post.

The number of total tests administered since the beginning of the outbreak reached 791,906 and a total of 18,491 people have been discharged from the hospital, Koca said.

Turkey started a four-day curfew beginning Thursday, April 23, a national holiday. It follows smaller-scale virus-containment measures over the previous two weekends.
