A meeting to discuss pushing back the dates for the Expo 2020 Dubai will be held on April 21.
The executive committee of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) will hold a virtual gathering on that date to make a decision, according to a statement Saturday.
The United Arab Emirates has requested a one-year delay to the world exhibition due to the coronavirus pandemic, asking that it now run from Oct. 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.

Delegates of 12 elected member states and BIE Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes will participate in the meeting, with a decision to be made by a two-thirds majority vote.
