Cuomo Adds 10 States to New York Quarantine List; Total of 31

Governor Andrew Cuomo said 10 states were added to New York's quarantine list and one was removed, for a new total of 31.

The new states are Alaska, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia and Washington, while Minnesota is off the list, Cuomo said Tuesday on a call with reporters. Cuomo said he is looking at potentially adding territories, such as Puerto Rico, to the mandatory quarantine list.

The advisory is based on a seven-day rolling average of the number of positive tests in excess of 10%, or the number of positive cases exceeding 10 per 100,000 residents.

Of the approximately 66,000 Covid-19 tests done yesterday in New York, the positive rate was 1.2%, Cuomo said. There were 724 New Yorkers hospitalized as of July 20, and only 2 deaths.
