Chief Guest For Republic Day 2025
This year, Indonesian President, H.E. Prabowo Subianto, has been invited to attend India's 76th Republic Day celebrations as the Chief Guest. It will be part of President Prabowo's state visit to India, scheduled for January 25-26. It is going to be his first official trip to India as President after he assumed office in October last year.
Every year, India invites world leaders to attend the Republic Day celebration. Last year, French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi graced the occasion in 2023.
There was no Republic Day Chief guest in 2021 and 2022 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Republic Day 2025: Parade Details
For Republic Day 2025, the grand parade will have tableaux from 15 states and union territories, such as Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Goa, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. Eleven contingents from the Central government will also take part in the event.
The parade begins at Raisina Hill near Rashtrapati Bhavan (President House) and travels along Kartavya Path, passing iconic landmarks such as India Gate, before concluding at Red Fort. The route is lined with spectators, with seating arrangements for dignitaries and the general public.
The Republic Day Parade features both military and civilian participation. The armed forces display their prowess through marches, military bands, and modern weaponry. The parade also includes cultural and folk performances from different states of India.
