Power Outages In Parts Of Bengaluru Till May 31, Check Areas To Be Affected

Earlier, parts of the city had faced power supply issues on May 18 and 19. Prior to that, several areas in India’s IT hub experienced power cuts on May 15.

BESCOM, Hosakote will witness disruptions in electricity supply from May 29 to 31, 10 am to 6 pm, due to ongoing underground power cable installation work.

Several parts of Bengaluru are set to witness power outages over the next few days. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd. (BESCOM) has issued a notification about power cuts from May 29 to May 31 in many areas of the capital city of Karnataka.  

According to BESCOM, Hosakote will witness disruptions in electricity supply from May 29 to 31, 10 am to 6 pm, due to ongoing underground power cable installation work.

Bengaluru Power Outages: These Areas Will Be Affected

On May 29, Gangamma Gudi Road, Kanakanagar, the area behind Hoskote Power Station, Om Sri School Area, Kanaka Bhavan Area, Ganagalu Road, Hoskote Degree College and surrounding areas will be affected.

Power outages will also be faced by the residents in the Hindu Cemetery Area, Kannur Halli Road, Somasunder Layout, Annapoorneshwari Nagar and Milan Kalyana Mantapa Area on May 30.

On May 31, the Telephone Exchange, Court Area, Ayyappaswamy Temple Area, Degree College Road, Majjige Kunti, Kathmandu Layout, Thyagaraja Layout, Doddagattigana Road, Nandashree Area and surrounding areas will face power supply disruptions.

 Furthermore, due to widening work at Kempapura Road, Shiva Circle in Vijayapura, there will be a power outage from 10 am to 5 pm on May 29 and 30. Yelavalli, Mittanahalli, Vijayapura town, Gurappana Math, Kolar Road, Vijayapura Police Station and surrounding areas will be affected.

Earlier, parts of the city had faced power supply issues on May 18 and 19. Prior to that, several areas in India’s IT hub experienced power cuts on May 15 due to routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades by BESCOM.

 Residents should plan their activities, keeping in mind the power outages. To prepare for these outages, charging your devices, such as your phone or laptop, beforehand is essential. Making alternate arrangements for business operations or work-from-home could help reduce disruption. Do not use lifts during the time mentioned for power cuts.

How To Report Unscheduled Power Outages

If there is an unexpected power cut in your area, you can complain to BESCOM via its official mobile app, BESCOM Mithra, or contact the dedicated helpline at 1912. Bengaluru residents can raise a complaint in case of issues like heavy load or transformer failures.

The BESCOM Mithra app can be downloaded via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. You need to have your meter RR number or account ID ready while filing a complaint.
