Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often highlighted his mother Heeraben's influence in shaping his life as he rose from a humble family background to become India's prime minister.
The Prime Minister had penned down an emotional and deeply-felt tribute to his mother earlier on her birthday on June 18 this year.
Highlighting her sacrifices and various aspects of her life which shaped his mind, personality and self-confidence, Modi said his mother always inspired him to have a strong resolve and focus on 'garib kalyan' (welfare of the poor), a theme of his government's numerous welfare schemes.
"In my mother's life story, I see the penance, sacrifice, and contribution of India's matrushakti. Whenever I look at mother and crores of women like her, I find there is nothing that is unachievable for Indian women," Prime Minister Modi said.
