Top defence officials on Monday confirmed that a Pakistani Mirage fighter jet was brought down by Indian air defence systems during Operation Sindoor last week.
The wreckage of the French-origin Mirage jet could be seen in a video shared by the Indian Army on social media platform X.
Top military officials of the Army, Air Force and the Navy provided details at the media briefing on Operation Sindoor, including how India targeted key Pakistani installations and aircraft in retaliatory moves following Pakistan's drone attacks on India.

"Putting together and operationalising the potent AD environment has been possible only because of budgetary and policy support from the government of India in the last decade."
The armed forces said that "all military bases, systems, equipment remain fully functional and if needed in future are ready for operation".
There was absolute synergy between the three defence services in Operation Sindoor, said Director General of Military Operations Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai.
The fleet operates as a composite force using advanced radar. Any aerial object that attempts to penetrate the bubble created by the Navy is attacked, Vice Admiral AN Pramod said.
At least 100 terrorists were eliminated in the precision strikes carried out under Operation Sindoor in the early hours of Wednesday, and around 35-40 personnel of the Pakistani Army were killed in the escalation over the past couple of days, the Indian military officers said in a press briefing on Sunday.
