The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for today in its latest seven-day bulletin, warning of more heavy showers ahead. In response, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has announced the closure of all schools and colleges for the day.

Red Alert In Mumbai Today LIVE: A Tree Fell Over 10-12 Rickshaws In Bhandup

A tree fell in the Bhandup Lekh Road area, crushing 10-12 rickshaws underneath, as per NDTV report. There were no casualties reported, it added.

Heavy rainfall and strong winds have been battering the area since morning, causing trees to fall and rickshaws to get pinned beneath them.
