On Thursday at 8 AM, the regional Mumbai division of IMD predicted clear skies for the city, noting that the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius, which is above normal for this time of the year.

However, people are likely to get respite from heat wave-like conditions over the next week. On Holi, which falls on Mar. 14, the weather conditions are expected to be mostly dry in nearly all districts, the IMD said. However, the Akola district of Maharashtra will remain on a yellow alert for a potential heatwave situation on Mar. 14. Both the Akola and Chandrapur districts are also on a heatwave alert for Mar. 15, according to IMD.

All India Weather Update: Weekly Weather Prediction For Mar. 13 To Mar. 19:

Issuing a special weather forecast for Holi, the IMD said that northwest India was likely to have cloudy skies with isolated rain on Mar. 14. Himalayan states, including Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Uttarakhand, would get moderate rainfall and snowfall. The rest of India, including Maharashtra, will experience dry weather.

From Mar. 13 to 19, temperatures in northwest India and along the west and east coasts are expected to be 2-3 degrees Celsius higher than usual. Other parts of the country will see near normal or slightly below-normal temperatures. 

Heatwave conditions are possible in interior Odisha and north Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Minimum temperatures are expected to be below normal in most areas, except coastal Karnataka, the IMD said.
