The Adani Foundation, in collaboration with the Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research, plans to develop the educational institute into a global centre of excellence for affordable healthcare education and delivery mechanism.
The collaboration between the two entities strives to strengthen the institution's reach and impact across academic innovation, clinical research and community health, according to a press release on Thursday.
It also supports the Adani Foundation's mission to uplift communities by bringing together opportunity, access and compassion through purposeful service, the release said.
Currently, DMIHER operates 15 institutes and five teaching hospitals, offering 217 academic programmes across 13 disciplines. This includes undergraduate, postgraduate, super-specialty, doctoral and fellowship courses.
"This collaboration with DMIHER reflects our belief that access to quality healthcare and education is a fundamental right — not a privilege," according to Priti Adani, chairperson of the Adani Foundation.
"We are proud to support the creation of a Centre of Excellence that will combine academic innovation, clinical research and community care. Together, we aim to build a scalable model that serves with dignity and contributes meaningfully towards the goal of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047," Adani said.
Since 1996, the Adani Foundation majorly focuses on social development in India. They operate in 7,060 villages across 21 states, reaching over 9.6 million lives through their programmes in education, health and nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, climate action and community development.
