May AMFI Data: Mutual Fund Inflows Dip For Fifth Straight Month
However, SIP inflows rose to Rs 26,688 crore, marking a record high for the second consecutive month.

Actively managed equity mutual funds recorded a Rs 19,013-crore inflow during May, lower by 22%, compared to the inflow of Rs 24,269.26 crore recorded in April, as per the monthly data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India. This marks a five-month decline.
Inflows across the board saw a dip, as compared to April. Active equity mutual funds saw a rise in assets under management to 4.85% in May at Rs 72.2 lakh crore, as compared to Rs 70 lakh crore in April.
Net inflow of the mutual fund industry was at Rs 29,108 crore, as compared to an inflow of Rs 2.76 lakh crore the previous month owing to an inflow in debt funds.
Actively-Managed Equity Funds
Large-cap funds recorded an inflow of Rs 1,250 crore, against Rs 2,671 crore in April. The mid-cap category saw an inflow of Rs 2,809 crore, while the net flows into the category in the preceding month were Rs 3,314 crore.
The small-cap funds recorded a net inflow of Rs 3,214 crore, while the net inflows stood at Rs 4,000 crore in April.
Flexi-cap funds saw an inflow of Rs 3,841 crore, compared to Rs 5,542 crore inflow in the previous month.
Inflows into the sectoral and thematic category stood at Rs 2,052 crore after recorded inflows into the category had fallen to Rs 2,001 crore in the month of April.
SIP Contribution
The SIP contribution rose marginally to Rs 26,688 crore in May, as compared to Rs 26,632 crore in April 2025. The gross SIP inflows in May marked a fresh high.
Debt Funds
Debt funds recorded an outflow of Rs 15,908 crore in the month of May, against an outflow of Rs 2.19 lakh crore in April.
Overnight funds recorded an outflow of Rs 8,120 crore against Rs 23,899.98 crore last month. Liquid funds recorded an outflow of Rs 40,205 lakh crore, compared to an inflow of Rs 1.18 lakh crore in March.

Hybrid And Passive Funds
Hybrid schemes saw inflows worth Rs 20,765.05 crore, against Rs 14,247.55 crore outflow recorded in the preceding month. Arbitrage funds saw an inflow of Rs 15,702 crore, extending their streak as the to witness highest inflows in the category.
In the passive fund category, inflows worth Rs 5,526 crore were recorded in May, compared to Rs 20,229 crore in April.
New Fund Offerings
Inflows from new fund offers accounted for inflow of Rs 4,170 crore this month. The inflows accounted by NFOs stood at Rs 350 crore in the previous month.
The other schemes category, including index funds and other ETFs, saw the most number of NFO launches in April.
