Zydus Gets Regulator’s Nod To Sell Hypertension Drug In U.S.

Cadila Healthcare Ltd.'s subsidiary Zydus can now sell a hypertension drug in the American market., as it has received an approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The drugmaker will manufacture the tablets at its formulation plant in Ahmedabad.

There are at least 75 million Americans who suffer from high blood pressure, according to a report published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2016.

The Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil tablets will be sold in four different strengths, according to Cadila's exchange filing. Cadila and Zydus together now have more than 150 approvals in the U.S., added the filing.
