Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers of Indian equities for the second straight day on Thursday. They remained buyers of stock futures and options, and turned sellers of index futures and options.
FIIs In Cash Market
Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers of Indian equities for the second straight day on Thursday as they offloaded stocks worth approximately Rs 3,311.6 crore.
Domestic institutional investors stayed net buyers for the 12th straight session as they bought equities worth Rs 3,907.6 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.
The FPIs sold stocks worth Rs 1,881.3 crore on Wednesday. In February so far, the overseas investors have net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,715.1 crore.

FIIs In Futures And Options
Ahead of the Feb. 27 expiry, the value of outstanding positions — also called open interest in the derivatives segment — has increased for the foreign institutional investors in the Nifty futures. The FIIs' long-to-short ratio in index futures remains at 15:85.
The FIIs sold index futures and options worth Rs 1,061.3 crore and Rs 6,218.8 crore respectively. They bought stock futures and options worth Rs 1,510.4 crore and Rs 729.8 crore.
FII Contract Value
The value of the total Nifty 50 futures open interest in the market decreased by Rs 651.7 crore at the end of February expiry from Rs 38,258.5 crore a day earlier to Rs 37,606.8 crore.
F&O Cues
The Nifty February futures were down 0.13% to 22,934.90 at a premium of 29.35 points, with the open interest down 1.61%.
The open interest distribution for the Nifty 50 Feb. 20 expiry series indicated most activity at 26,500 call strikes, with the 22,000 put strikes having the maximum open interest.
Long-Short Ratio
The total long-short ratio for foreign investors rose to 1.21 from 1.21.
