Scooters drove up sales of TVS Motor Company Ltd. in August.
The auto maker sold 3,17,563 units, an increase of 16 percent year on year, the company said in an exchange filing. Two-wheelers grew 15.5 percent to 3,09,146 units, while three-wheeler sales increased by 26.9 percent.
Scooter sales rose 49.3 percent to 1,14,354 units, but bike numbers declined by 2,427 units to 1,11,927.
The company exported 45,604 units, an increase of 33.7 percent, with two-wheelers comprising a large chunk of the total numbers. The exports grew 34.6 percent to 34,602 units.
