Samvardhana Motherson Announces 1:2 Bonus Share

Samvardhana Motherson Ltd.'s board approved a bonus issue of equity shares in a 1:2 ratio on Thursday. The issuance of bonus shares is subject to the approval of shareholders in the ensuing general meeting.

The board has also recently recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.35 per equity share with a face value of Re 1 each on the entire equity share capital consisting of 703.63 crore of equity shares for the financial year 2024-25, subject to approval of shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting scheduled to be held on Aug. 28.

The final dividend, if declared by the shareholders at the forthcoming AGM, shall be paid within 30 days from the date of declaration, that is, on or before Sept. 26. The final dividend will be in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 0.50 paid for the financial year 2024-25.

The record date for the same is June 23. This comes as the company announced its fourth quarter results on Thursday.

Samvardhana Motherson Q4 Highlights (Consolidated, YoY)

  • Revenue up 6% at Rs 29,317 crore versus Rs 27,666 crore.

  • EBITDA down 1.6% at Rs 2,643 crore versus Rs 2,686 crore.

  • Margin at 9% versus 9.7%.

  • Net profit up 19.6% at Rs 1,051 crore versus Rs 879 crore.

Shares of Samvardhana Motherson are trading at 0.67% higher to Rs 149.69 apiece, compared to a 0.05% advance at the benchmark NSE Nifty 50 at 2:37 p.m.

It has risen 3.16% in the last 12 months and fallen 2.20% on a year-to-date basis. The total traded volume so far in the day stood at 17.13 times its 30-day average. The relative strength index was at 55.41.
