Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Lose Rs 1,102 Crore In Market Cap

Infosys witnessed a market-cap loss of Rs 8,429.11 crore, bringing its market cap to Rs 7.01 lakh crore.

The top 10 most-valued firms lost a cumulative Rs 1,102.38 crore in market valuation on Tuesday, with Reliance Industries Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd. and Infosys Ltd. emerging as the biggest losers.

RIL's market capitalisation dropped by Rs 12,652.77 crore to Rs 15.72 lakh crore, while that of Bharti Airtel fell by Rs 11,647.98 crore to Rs 8.97 lakh crore.

Infosys witnessed a market-cap loss of Rs 8,429.11 crore, bringing its market cap to Rs 7.01 lakh crore. Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and ITC Ltd. were also among the top losers with their market capitalisation slipping by Rs 4,581.7 crore and Rs 3,253.04 crore respectively.

RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by HDFC Bank Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., Infosys Ltd., State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd. and ITC Ltd.

The benchmark equity indices ended Tuesday's session marking the longest losing streak in 29 years. The auto, IT and FMCG sectors declined the most. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 36.65 points, or 0.17% lower at 22,086.2, while the BSE Sensex closed 96.01 points, or 0.13% down at 72,989.9.
