Nifty Top Gainers, Losers On April 25: SBI Life, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Shriram Finance, Axis Bank

IT stocks contributed largely to the gains, led by TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys.

Indian benchmark indices closed lower for the second consecutive session on Friday.

The NSE Nifty 50 closed 207.35 points, or 0.86% lower at 24,039.35, while the BSE Sensex ended 588.90 points, or 0.74% down at 79,212.53.

SBI Life Insurance Co. was the top gainer among the Nifty 50 stocks as it ended 5.40% higher at Rs 1,695.1. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. closed 1.36% up at Rs 3,448 apiece. Following closely behind, Tech Mahindra Ltd. rose to close 1.16% higher at Rs 1,462 per share.

The next biggest gainer of the trading session was UltraTech Cement Ltd. as the stock climbed to close 0.64% up at Rs 1,237 apiece. Infosys Ltd. closed 0.60% higher at Rs 1,480.20 apiece.

IT stocks contributed largely to the gains, led by TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys. The Nifty IT closed 0.72% higher, the only sector which ended in the green.

The biggest laggard for the trading session was Shriram Finance Ltd., as the stock declined 5.95% to Rs 655.20 apiece.

It was closely followed by Adani Enterprises Ltd. was down 3.61% to Rs 2,354.30 and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. down 3.51% to Rs 1,193. Axis Bank Ltd. and Trent Ltd. which declined 3.38% to Rs 1,166.30 and 3.35% to Rs 5,145, respectively.
