Nifty Top Gainers And Losers On March 13: From Bharat Electronics, SBI To Shriram Finance And More

Overall, Nifty companies shed Rs 74,434 crore from their market capitalisation.

Shares of Bharat Electronics Ltd. and State Bank of India were the top gainers on Thursday, while Shriram Finance Ltd. and Hero MotoCorp fared the worst on the Nifty.

The benchmark equity indices ended a holiday-shortened week lower. The Nifty ended 73.30 points or 0.33% lower at 22,397.20, while the BSE Sensex closed 200.85 points or 0.27% down at 73,828.91 after they opened in the green.

Bharat Electronics surged as much as 3.24% intraday after the company received a Rs 2,463 crore order from the Indian Air Force for supply and services of Ashwini Radars. It closed 1.18% higher.

SBI ended 0.68% higher. Bloomberg reported the PSU bank is setting up a unit to manage project financing solutions for "new age industries" such as artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and fintech.

Pharma majors Sun Pharma Ltd. and Cipla Ltd. shares also ended higher.

Shriram Finance, Hero MotoCorp, and Tata Motors Ltd. declined over 2%. Shriram Finance announced it has successfully raised over $500 million in one of the largest SACE-covered loan facilities. 

Overall, Nifty companies shed Rs 74,434 crore from their market capitalisation. Thirteen stocks advanced, while 37 declined.

In terms of points contribution to the Nifty, ICICI Bank Ltd. and State Bank of India weighed the most, while Reliance Industries Ltd. and Infosys Ltd. weighed on the benchmark.
