Nifty Top Gainers And Losers On Dec. 26: From Adani Ports, Maruti Suzuki To Mahindra
Titan, Asian Paints, JSW Steel, Grasim Industries and Nestle India were among the major drags of the day.

The markets on Thursday saw a muted close a day after Christmas with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., Maruti Suzuki Ltd. and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. emerging as the top gainers for the day. On the other hand, Titan Co., Asian Paints Ltd., JSW Steel Ltd. and Grasim Industries Ltd were among the worst performers.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 0.10% up at 23,750.20 and Sensex ended flat at 78,472.48 on the day of 2024's last monthly derivatives contract expiry of the Nifty index.
Adani Ports, the top gainer in the Nifty 50 index, closed 5.22% higher at Rs 1,243.95 after it rose as much as 5.65% during the day. This was after Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd. welcomed MSC Michela, the 100th vessel in six months of operations. The port was developed by Adani Ports in collaboration with the state government of Kerala.
Mahindra was also among the key gainers of the day, as its stock closed 1.60% higher at Rs 2,975.65 apiece on the NSE. Mahindra Tractors, an arm of the company, on Tuesday had announced a partnership with Punjab National Bank to provide channel finance solutions to the dealers.
Maruti Suzuki's stock rallied to close 1.48% higher on Thursday as the automaker makes it into the top stocks recommended by the analysts for 2025.
SBI Life Insurance closed 0.89% higher at Rs 4,792 per share after seeing a 1.21% rise during the day. Non-banking finance company Shriram Finance Ltd. was also among the top gainers, as it closed 1.59% higher at Rs 1,409.05.
On the flip side, Titan plunged up to 1.22%, before closing 0.91% lower at Rs 3,323.05 apiece. Asian Paints also saw a 1.20% fall but recovered partially to close 0.95% down at Rs 2,262.40, followed by JSW Steel that closed 0.80% lower at Rs 914.45.
Grasim Industries Ltd. and Nestle India Ltd., which were also among the drags, settled 0.79% and 0.78% lower, respectively.
