Tech Mahindra rose the most, up 1.46% to close at Rs 1,718.60 apiece, followed by Infosys, which rose 0.99% to close at Rs 1,639.90 apiece. Asian Paints advanced 0.89% to close at Rs 2,264.80 apiece. TCS and Maruti Suzuki India were also among the winners.

Adani Enterprises shares fell 2.18% lower at Rs 2,488.50 apiece, followed by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories which closed 2.08% down at Rs 1,318.80 apiece. Sun Pharma stock declined 2.08% at Rs 1,650.20 apiece. Eternal and ONGC were also among the worst performers.
