Tech Mahindra Ltd., Infosys Ltd., Asian Paints Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. were among the top gainers on June 17.
On the other hand, Adani Enterprises Ltd., Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd., Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Eternal Ltd., and Oil and Natural Gas Corp. were among the laggards.
Tech Mahindra rose the most, up 1.46% to close at Rs 1,718.60 apiece, followed by Infosys, which rose 0.99% to close at Rs 1,639.90 apiece. Asian Paints advanced 0.89% to close at Rs 2,264.80 apiece. TCS and Maruti Suzuki India were also among the winners.
Adani Enterprises shares fell 2.18% lower at Rs 2,488.50 apiece, followed by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories which closed 2.08% down at Rs 1,318.80 apiece. Sun Pharma stock declined 2.08% at Rs 1,650.20 apiece. Eternal and ONGC were also among the worst performers.
The benchmark Nifty 50 and Sensex resumed their declining streak as they closed lower on Tuesday, following a breather on Monday.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 93.10 points or 0.37% lower at 24,853, while the BSE Sensex closed 212.85 points or 0.26% down at 81,583. During the day, the Nifty fell 0.53% to trade at 24,982.05 and the Sensex fell 0.45% to 81,427.01.
The National Stock Exchange got SEBI nod to shift expiry day for its futures and options contracts from Thursday to Tuesday. The Securities and Exchange Board of India sent a mail intimating the bourse, people aware of the matter told NDTV Profit.
