We hosted the investor analyst meet for KSB Ltd. As per the management, with its timely capacity expansion, pre-qualifications for nuclear pumps, strong product portfolio and parent's (German) technology support, KSB is well placed to benefit from strong opportunities in industrial pumps.
Presently, KSB is the only company in India which is pre-qualified for supplying primary coolant pumps to the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs 30 billion opportunity).
The company has 70% market share in flue-gas desulfurisation (according to management), supported by indigenisation of 95% of jobs, with only balance 5% (special parts) outsourced.
KSB also sees strong opportunities in distillery and solar pumps in the domestic market. Exports are currently ~17% of sales, which company aims to increase to ~20% over the next two-three years. This will be led by the launch of new products such as gamma and solar pumps which company mentioned provide vast opportunities for the group's international business.
