FPIs Stay Net Sellers For Third Session In Row

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers on Wednesday for the third straight session as they offloaded equities worth Rs 1,538.88 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

On Tuesday, the FPIs net sold equities worth Rs 5,901.63 crore.

Meanwhile, the domestic institutional investors remained net buyers for the fourth consecutive session on Wednesday, as they mopped up equities worth Rs 2,808.83 crore.

In March, the FPIs net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,973 crore, according to the National Securities Depository Ltd.'s data.

In February, the overseas had net offloaded equities worth Rs 34,574 crore. This was preceded by net selling of Rs 78,027 crore in January.

In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 1.22 lakh crore, the NSDL data showed.

India's benchmark equity market indices snapped a two-day losing streak on Wednesday, tracking a rise in HDFC Bank Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 165.20 points or 0.71% higher at 23,330.90, and the BSE Sensex ended 592.93 points or 0.78% higher at 76,617.44.
