FPIs Stay Net Buyers For 11 Sessions

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net buyers of Indian equities for the 11th straight session on Wednesday, as they obtained stocks worth Rs 50.57 crore.

Domestic institutional investors stayed net buyers for the fourth session in a row, mopping up equities worth Rs 1,792.15 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

On Tuesday, the FPIs had bought equities worth Rs 2,385.61 Rs crore. So far in April, they have net bought shares worth Rs 4,223 crore, according to the National Securities Depository Ltd.'s data.

In March, the overseas investors had net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,973 crore, which was significantly lower as compared to the net selling of equities worth Rs 34,574 crore in February. This was preceded by net selling of Rs 78,027 crore in January.

In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 1.12 lakh crore, the NSDL data showed.

The benchmark equity indices snapped two days of advances to end in red on Wednesday, ahead of the market holiday.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 1.75 points or 0.01% lower at 24,334.20, while the BSE Sensex closed 46.14 points, or 0.06% down at 80,242.24.

Intraday, Nifty 50 fell as much as 0.56% to 24,198.75. Sensex was down 0.51% to 779,879.15.
