Boeing Share Price Slumps 8% In Pre-Market Trading

Boeing Co share price dropped more than 8% during the pre-market trading session after a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner plane, operated by Air India, heading towards London, crashed in Ahmedabad. This is the first time, an aircraft from Boeing's 787 dreamline fleet got involved in a crash.

Air India's Flight AI-171 Ahmedabad-London Gatwick crashed in Meghaninagar on Thursday, with 242 people on board, including 10 crew members and three infants.

Injured taken to hospital and roads near crash site cordoned off.

As of 3:30 p.m., Boeing was trading 8.03% down at $197.41.

On Wednesday, the aircraft manufacturer's stock settled 0.80% down at $214. The stock has been declining for two days.

In the middle of 2024, the aviation regulators of the US called for an inspection of Boeing Co's 787 Dreamliner aircrafts following an incident of a mid-air plunge in a flight during March, 2024.

Boeing Co's aircrafts have been involved in numerous crashes in the past. The very recent one is South Korea's Jeju Air flight crashed in late December 2024. The flight crashed while it attempted landing and costed 179 lives, as per data in the news. The aircraft was Boeing 737–800 model.
