Silver futures on Thursday dropped by Rs 871 to Rs 51,690 per kg as participants reduced their bets.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for September delivery declined by Rs 871 or 1.66 per cent to Rs 51,690 per kg in a business turnover of 173 lots.
Globally, silver was trading 1.49 per cent lower at USD 17.61 per ounce in New York.
