Two films at different stages of their theatrical run and from two different genres are competing for audience attention this week. While Akshay Kumar's horror-comedy 'Bhooth Bangla' is navigating its third week, Riteish Deshmukh's historical drama 'Raja Shivaji' is in its first week after a strong opening weekend.
'Bhooth Bangla' Box Office Collection Day 19
As per Sacnilk reports, on Day 19, 'Bhooth Bangla' collected Rs 2.25 crore across 4,397 shows, which is a 28.6% growth from Monday's net collection of Rs 1.75 crore. The total India gross collections of the film are valued at Rs 173.88 crore, and the total India net collections are Rs 146.50 crore. With a significant contribution of Rs 57.15 crore from the overseas market, the worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 231.03 crore.
'Raja Shivaji' Box Office Collection Day 5
Riteish Deshmukh's Raja Shivaji garnered Rs 4.90 crore on Day 5 across 5,485 shows. These numbers indicate a 12.5% drop from Monday's net collection of Rs 5.60 crore. With the Marathi version being the primary driving force for the film, it brought in Rs 3.35 crore across 1,851 shows. The remaining Rs 1.55 crore was earned through the Hindi version from 3,634 shows.
As of Day 5, the total India gross collections are reported as Rs 52.68 crore, while the total India net collections are valued at Rs 44.40 crore.
'Bhooth Bangla' Occupancy
'Bhooth Bangla' recorded decent overall occupancy of 23.50% on Day 19. Night shows performed the strongest at 33.15%, followed by evening at 20.77% and afternoon at 19.92%. Morning shows remained low at 6.54%
The National Capital Region (NCR) led with 559 shows at 22.0% occupancy. Mumbai recorded 176 shows with a high occupancy of 34.5%, followed by Ahmedabad (229 shows, 18.5%). Other cities include Kolkata (147 shows) at 7.5%, Surat (143 shows) at 22.0%, and Lucknow (123 shows) at 14.5%. Chennai, with only one show, recorded the highest occupancy of 59.0%.
'Raja Shivaji' Occupancy
- Marathi (2D): Day 5 recorded 31.40% overall occupancy. Night shows performed best at 40.83%, while morning was lowest at 10.67%.
Pune, with 346 shows, saw 35.8% occupancy, while Mumbai screened the highest 538 shows at 25.3%. Kolhapur led with 48.7%, followed by Nashik (36.0%) across 48 shows. - Hindi (2D): A modest 15.62% overall occupancy on Day 5. Night shows performed best at 19.46%, while morning shows were lowest at 6.62%.
NCR led with 320 shows at 14.5%, followed by Ahmedabad (310 shows, 11.3%). Pune performed well with 48 shows at 24.3%, while Chennai recorded 41.3% across 8 shows.

'Bhooth Bangla' enjoys a wider audience base, while 'Raja Shivaji' is more dominant in Maharashtra. The horror-comedy is driven by mass appeal and Akshay Kumar's screen presence, whereas 'Raja Shivaji' taps into regional pride. The Marathi version of 'Raja Shivaji' is clearly outperforming its Hindi counterpart, giving the film a strong regional hold.
