Congress President Rahul Gandhi today attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government over the rising prices of petrol and diesel and said that he would protest in Kolar town in Karnataka against its fuel price policy.

He accused the government of collecting Rs 10 lakh crore in taxes on petroleum products without giving any relief to people by lowering prices.

Gandhi took to Twitter to express his disdain over the government's treatment of tax collection, sharing a video allegedly “showing the truth about fuel prices under Modi”, using the hashtag ‘BJPReducePetrolPrices.' He added that he would lead a protest against the prices in Kolar in poll-bound Karnataka today.
