The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revealed the first round of tentative allocation (FRTA) for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination, 2025. This comes after the exam procedure commenced with the Tier-I outcome on Dec. 18, 2025, and the Tier-II examination was conducted on Jan. 18 and 19, 2026.

Eligibility for SSC CGL

Candidates who succeeded in Tier II and provided their online choices were deemed for this distribution. The SSC mentioned that only those who passed Section-I and Section-II of Paper-I in Tier-II were assessed for Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test, CKT) and Section-IV (Data Entry Speed Test, DEST). Individuals who fell short of the cut-off marks for Section-I and Section-II were disqualified from evaluation in Sections III and IV.

Cutoff marks for SSC CGL

Cut-off Scores The essential qualifying scores for Section-I, Section-II, and Section-III (CKT) of Paper-I and Paper-II were established at 30% for UR candidates, 25% for OBC/EWS candidates, and 20% for all other categories. For the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), the highest permissible error margin was 20% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 30% for all remaining categories.

Allocation basis for SSC CGL

The FRTA distributions were determined by the comprehensive Tier-II results. For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Gr. II (SI) positions, outcomes in Tier-II Paper-I (Sections I + II) and Paper-II were taken into account. For all other positions, the assessment relied on Tier-II Paper-I (Sections I + II).

107 candidates' results held back

The results for 107 candidates have been held back for a variety of reasons. The allocations are also contingent upon the conclusive results of ongoing court proceedings, particularly SLP (C) No. 7246/2026 and WP (C) No. 1733/2026.

New sliding mechanism

A sliding mechanism has been implemented to optimise vacancy usage and provide allocation based on merit. Candidates can choose their location, date, and time slot for this procedure on the SSC website from April 8 to April 10, 2026.

The sliding process will take place at regional offices from April 13-22, 2026, for the Northern Region and from April 13-18, 2026, for all other regions. Candidates are required to appear in person to be eligible for the final allocation.
